The world has many Art Deco cities. The time period for it was just beginning about one hundred years ago in western Europe from where it spread around the planet to many cities big and small. In terms of scale it is hard to beat New York with such enormous buildings such as the Empire State Building, whereas for a complete, continous Art Deco environment you should go down under and visit Napier, and its sister city Hastings, in New Zealand.
The cities this site intends to look at are in:
Canada – Vancouver
France – Paris, Bordeaux, & Cherbourg
Belgium – Brussels
USA – New York
New Zealand – Napier, Hastings & Auckland
Art Deco cities from other countries such as Brazil and Portugal will be featured in the blog.
